I hadn’t had a reply from Maggie Godfrey since I asked her on 15th January why she thought it not important for a prospective RMBC Labour Cllr for Maltby to attend Maltby Town Council meetings.
So I wrote again on
Tue, 14 Feb 2012
Dear Maggie Godfrey,
I am forwarding to you my letter of 15th January in case you did not receive it, as I have not had a reply from you.
I understand however, that you were present at a meeting of Maltby Town Council this month. As this is the first and only meeting of MTC that you have attended, could you
please tell me if you have gained any insight into the community of Maltby and it’s residents and which issues if any, you would address if you were elected. What is your vision for Maltby and how would you go about fulfilling it ?
Also, I still require the details of someone in your party who could explain the selection process of this year’s candidates.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards etc.
No response to that, so I tried again :
Would you please respond to the last 2 emails I have sent you?
Election time is getting closer and closer and it would be a shame if you did not give the electorate the information that they need to decide who would be the best person to represent Maltby.
I hope that you are not going to be like Rt Hon Kevin Barron MP and not reply to constituents queries.
Yours etc.
One week later and I have received a reply !
I have not responded to you as you are clearly hostile to my candidacy as the Labour Party candidate for Maltby in the Borough Council elections. Everything I say is simply put onto your blog with your own particular spin.
I am very active in the local community and have been doing a lot of listening to local people about their priorities and concerns for their community which I am following through with the two Borough Councillors Christine Beaumont and Amy Rushforth.
I do not consider that you are representative of the local electorate and I am communicating with all electors through leaflets, direct contact etc without needing you to act as my conduit.
I would therefore be grateful if you could stop emailing me as I have no intention of responding to you further.
Regards
Maggie Godfrey
Seemed a shame not to post this correspondence as Maggie Godfrey – and others – clearly read Maltbyblogger.
I am not confused at all now about the intentions and agenda of the Labour Party in Maltby and Hellaby.
Just my understanding of a ‘conduit’ is a pipe or channel for conveying fluids, such as water or, a tube or duct for enclosing electric wires or cable.
I wonder what she means ? Don’t suppose I’ll find out now …
Reblogged this on maltbyblogger and commented:
According to mb “stats” there have been 3 views of this post today so thought it worth a reblog.
A pipe or channel for conveying bullsh*t perhaps?
Now why didn’t I think of that before, Chris !
