Would you believe it ?
Take a day off from Twitter to reflect on the election results and look what I find … Labour Councillor for the Rotherham West Ward on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council Cllr Jahangir Akhtar making false and offensive statements about me. The following is currently displayed on the front page of the website http://jahangirakhtar.org/

I am very interested to know how Cllr Akhtar has come to the conclusion that I sympathise with the BNP. Clearly he is unaware of who I support and what my political views are. Maybe I should direct him to my “infamous” blog with Will Blair and interview with Julian Baggini in The Independent in 2008 ? (yes, ok I’m name dropping now but what the hell… )
Perhaps I should be grateful that Cllr Akhtar has responded to me at all. I’ve asked him numerous questions but not had a reply, until now – and then he goes and blocks me. Yet another example of Labour’s councillors who seem to forget that they are elected to represent us.
