Response from Maltby Town Council to latest requests for information.
“Firstly, your email dated 22 May 2012 re Maltby Hall Infant & Lilly Hall Junior School Amalgamation was put to the Council and resolved at comments duly noted.
Secondly, I will response to each of your points listed below:
a. You state that you have not received an acknowledgement or receipt of your email 7th June, but in the line above you give your thanks for the acknowledgement
b. You received an email from this office on Wednesday 6th June giving the rationale and minute number of the change of meeting date.
c. You are correct no one was co-opted on the 6th June
d. In line with the Maltby TC publication scheme minutes of meetings are published after being ratified by Council. I do apologise that you were previously sent draft minutes which had not been approved by the Council.
e. A resolution to the agenda item to which you refer was made and therefore the agenda item carried out.
f. On the 7th and 8th of June the office was closed due to staff holidays and sick leave. This was advertised. All voicemail messages were responded to immediately on Monday morning, but I found no voicemail message from yourself and one email dated 7th June. Residents can contact Councillors at any time – all Councillors contact details are shown in the Maltby News.
g. A copy of the agenda for Thursday 21st June can be found on our website.
I am sorry if you do not feel that your emails are being responded to as quickly as you would like. The Council office is extremely busy and receives many requests for help and information each day, we do our best to respond as quickly as possible, but do have to prioritise the workload.
Regards

maltbyblogger’s reply :
Dear Anne Stewart, Cllr J Carratt and Maltby Town Council,
Thank you for your prompt response to my email dated 18th June 2012
Thank you also for (your points a, b) pointing out what appears to be a copy and paste error regarding receipt of an email. Like Maltby Town Council, I am not infallible and sometimes make mistakes which I readily acknowledge and make amends for.I am rather confused at your first point
“email dated 22 May 2012 re Maltby Hall Infant & Lilly Hall Junior School Amalgamation was put to the Council and resolved at comments duly noted”
Could you please clarify what you mean by this? Was my email regarding the school amalgamation discussed at MTC and if so at which meeting? Please direct me to the minute which records this so that I and the people of Maltby can know the result of the discussion and what, if any decisions were made.
Regarding your point (d) “In line with the Maltby TC publication scheme minutes of meetings are published after being ratified by Council” please direct me to where I can read a copy of “Maltby TC publication scheme”
You have no reason to apologise for sending me draft minutes as these are what I had asked for.
Regarding your point (e) would you please tell me what the “resolution” was regarding the agenda item and the minute number where it is recorded.
Regarding your point (f) I did not say that I called or emailed the MTC office on 6th or 7th June. I was merely seeking to ascertain the procedure for enquiries or problems if the office is shut.
Thankyou for confirming that councillors can be contacted at any time. I do not recognise the Maltby News as a reputable source of information and therefore would not use it as a means of getting contact details for councillors or any one else.
Regarding your point (g)
Thankyou for directing me to a copy of the agenda for 21st June (albeit upside down) I see that the website has been updated, in a fashion, so shall continue to check for information there before asking you directly. I understand and appreciate that the Council office is extremely busy and receives many requests for help and information each day. I am glad to hear that you do your best to respond as quickly as possible and prioritise the workload. However, on occasions a response is given rather than an answer to a question which I am sure you will agree is not the best use of your or the councillors time.
Regards,
Note : Since sending this email the day before yesterday, the upside down agenda for tonight’s (21st June) meeting has now been uprighted and can be found here http://www.rotherhamparishcouncils.gov.uk/Home/Maltby/maltbyMinutes—Agenda.aspx together with a variety of others. The Home page and other areas of the website remains bleak.http://www.rotherhamparishcouncils.gov.uk/Home/Maltby/maltbyHome.aspx
It is still beyond maltbyblogger’s understanding of logic and reason why the agendas and minutes are posted in such a haphazard fashion but mb would not be so cynical as to imply that they were posted in haste after requests for them. Why agendas of past meetings are posted after the event without their accompanying minutes is a question we may never get an answer to, but we can still try … …
