Letter in the Rotherham Advertiser, from David Morton
“Knighthood is feather in the cap for area
A knighthood for Kevin Barron is a feather in the cap for Maltby, Rother Valley and of course all of Rotherham.
Until a few years ago I worked in the Rother Valley area and saw first hand how seriously Kevin considered his constituency work and the well being of all those who called on his services.
His knighthood is a public acknowledgement of his unstinting efforts on behalf of all those who live and work in Rother Valley, and the honour is well deserved.
May I add my own congratulations to the many others which will no doubt be plopping through his letterbox in the next few days.
David Morton, Charnock Wood Rd, Gleadless, Sheffield ”
This may of course be pure coincidence that the letter writer here has the same name as David Morton the ex – Maltby Town Council Clerk, Labour Party Member and once Local Councils Officer for the Yorkshire Local Councils Association, who was suspended from his post and then resigned and received a £50 000 “compensation” payment out of the coffers of Maltby Town Council. What do you think ?
