Good to be able to say “thank you and congratulations” to Kate Butler, the new Clerk at Maltby Town Council for her efficiency in taking a question for the council at short notice yesterday and for providing the response (below) this morning :

Yes your question was read out at last night’s Full Town Council meeting. The response was:

 “I think it would be premature for Maltby Town Council to discuss this when the 157 page report only came out yesterday, and that Rotherham Borough Council are yet to discuss and reply”.

The response from MTC was to be expected, but let’s see how long it is before a “statement” regarding MTC councillors/cabinet members and the Louise Casey report is forthcoming.

NB:  Am I correct in thinking that, by the wording of MTC’s response, that RMBC are to discuss and “reply” to the report ? Surely the findings and recommendations have to be adhered to, regardless of RMBC’s discussion and reply ?
