Dear Community Member
Wentworth Valley Area Assembly
Invite you to an event
“Raising Awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation – Help Stamp it Out!”
Monday 2nd March 5.30pm – 6.30pm – Wickersley Community Centre
Child sexual exploitation is a crime which destroys children and family’s lives. It is an issue for every community across the country and is not limited to a particular area, ethnicity, or social background.
Do you know what signs to look out for?
Do you know what to do if you see something unusual or that concerns you?
Please spare an hour of your time to come along to and we will tell you how agencies in Rotherham are working together to tackle this issue and what you can do to help.
The event is being run by the YWCA, who are an independent organization who have been asked to talk to as many people as they can in our communities about child sexual exploitation because they have a wealth of knowledge and experience on supporting young people and their families around this issue.
We are committed to stamping out child Sexual Exploitation in Rotherham. This is the responsibility of everyone. Help us make it a reality!
Yours sincerely
A. Peers

Just a reminder of the biography of Cllr Christine Beaumont – ex Cabinet Member and currently doing a great act as an ostrich.
I was elected a councillor on 5th May, 2011 and am Vice-Chairman of the Wentworth Valley Area Assembly and a member of the Self Regulation Select Commission and the Health Select Commission.
I am currently Cabinet Member for Children and Education Services.
Prior to being elected to Rotherham Council I was a school teacher, initially in Manchester and since 1984 in several Rotherham schools.
I have experience of teaching in every year group and at a school for young people on the Autism spectrum. I have served as a governor at two schools for more than 25 years.
I have studied at Durham, Bristol & Sheffield Hallam Universities and lived in Maltby since 1980.
I am determined to ensure that all children and young people living in Rotherham are kept as safe as possible and that they receive appropriate education enabling them to become happy and productive members of society.
