Another woman has been charged in relation to a major investigation into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1993 and 1995.
Shelley Davies, aged 40, has been charged with conspiracy to procure a child to become a common prostitute and unlawful imprisonment.
She was also jointly charged with conspiracy to rape alongside three others – 52-year-old Qurban Ali, 58-year-old Karen MacGregor and 40-year-old Arshid Hussain – who were charged yesterday.
All of the charges have been brought as part of Operation Clover, a joint investigation by South Yorkshire Police in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the Crown Prosecution Service.
Davies, along with the other defendants, has been bailed to appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
